MINDLESS COLLECTION

SUNNY SIDE UP | 2018

Sunny Side Up Collection is a translation of the artist’s childhood memories. The inspiration came from books she has read as a kid, which shaped her imagination, to crazy cartoons like Dexter’s Laboratory. The starting point of this collection was the original print. It’s supposed to bring to mind children’s scribbles. In order to achieve three-dimensional, bubble wrap-like structure, the artist transfers a little bit of unreal, imaginary world into clothes and create magical, dreamy, fluffy, fairy tale atmosphere. The collection is very positive, colorful with playful accoutrements and a little bit of humor running throughout, a reminder that’s it’s never too late to fulfill childhood dreams.

STARDUST | 2019

STARDUST collection combines inspirations from different movies and cartoons like Stranger Things, Rick & Morty and to mix them in a colorful, unique way with the wild, cartoonish harajuku streets fashion style and vintage Halloween photos. The designer uses different fabrics, prints and colors to make it look like an alien landed on earth and want to have fun with fashion. Oversized green faux-fur coat with crochet daisies, star eye-patches, alien spaceship print, cow fake-fur print mixed with light semi-transparent pink and yellow dots fabrics, ruffles, puffed sleeves, oversized pater pan collars, little colorful faux-fur totes sounds like almost impossible blend, but human alien can pull it off.

QADAR - AMirah sackett

Chicago - USA | Hip-Hop dancer & Choreographer.

Qadar (Arabic: قدر‎, transliterated qadar, meaning “fate”) is the concept of divine destiny in Islam. This concept applies to many situations in life including that of romantic love. Often we stay at a closed door knocking, when another one is open for us. This solo uses the vocals of Denver artist, Aja Black (The Reminders), and her cover of Bob Marley’s “Waiting in Vain”, poetry of 13th century Islamic scholar and poet, Rumi, and the sound design abilities of Chicago DJ and musician, Nevin Hersch. Amirah continues to explore mixing Islamic culture with hip-hop and relevant themes in today’s world.
